Architecture Scholarships
Brook, Don E. Memorial Scholarship
Annual $1000 scholarship awarded to a 5th yr. Architecture student who displays a talent in design, and judged by the applicant’s portfolio. Preference will be given to students with a 3.0 or above in architecture classes, out-of-state tuition status, and are not associated with the fraternal systerm.
Burger, Rolf Memorial Fellowship Fund
Scholarship awarded to deserving full-time student senrolled in the 3rd yr of the Architecture program, who, while not yet at the top of their class, have demonstrated consistent improvement in their academic coursework and exceptional professional talent. In the event that the selection committee cannot agree on a qualified third year student, fourth or fifth year students may also be considered. Within the preceding criteria the scholarship(s) shall be awarded on the basis of :
• Academic performance as demonstrated by consistent scholarly improvement in professional courses;
• Professional talent as displayed by completed design projects or portfolio;
• Civic-mindedness as indicated by exceptional professional services to the School of Architecture, the University or the community at large.
Garrison, R. Memorial Scholarship
Students eligible for the scholarship shall be full time, regularly enrolled undergraduate students majoring in architecture. Within the preceding criteria, scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement.
Hedeen, Lt. Eric Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support for talented 5th yr. Archtiecture students in need of financial assistance and are not receiving financial aid from the university.
Jewell, Lynn R. Memorial Scholarship
Those considered eligible for scholarships shall be full time, regularly enrolled students majoring in architecture who have completed their first two years of study. Within the preceding criteria, scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement. It is the donor’s wish that serious students who show the academic ability and dedicated interest to complete a college program in architecture receive priority in the granting of financial assistance.
Logan, R. H. Scholarship
This scholarship shall be awarded to Architecture undergraduate and graduate students according to the following criteria:
1. those pursuing a degree in architecture;
2. those with a 3.0 or higher grade point average;
3. those who demonstrate financial need.
The awards are renewable for recipients who continue to qualify according to the above criteria. Recipients will be known as the “Logan Scholars”.
Weller, Harry C. Scholarship
Those considered elgible for scholarships shall be full time, regularly enrolled undergraduate students majoring in architecture. Within the preceding criteria, scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement.
Construction Management Scholarships
Austin Scholarship
Those considered eligible for the scholarship shall be full time, regularly enrolled 4th or 5th yr. students maintaining a GPA of 3.2 or better, a demonstrated financial need and majoring in Construction Management and Business. A successful candidate must display an entrepreneurial ambition to establish themselves in the construciton industry. Two scholarship recipients per year shall be determined by the School of Architecture Scholarship Committee. This scholarship can be renewed if the student maintains a GPA of 3.2 or better and continues to meet the other criteria.
Beavers Heavy Const. Scholarship
This award is designated to provide financial assistance to deserving students with an interest in a career in the heavy construction industry. The parties herin named agree to the following stipulations:
• The recipient must be a United States citizen.
• The recipient must be an upperclassman majoring in construction engineering studies directly applicable to the heavy construction industry.
• The recipient should have a professional goal of achieving a career in the heavy construction industry as established by one or more of the following:
1. Stated intention of pursuing such a career.
2. By part-time or summer employment in the heavy construction industry.
3. Enrollment in related curriculum.
4. A written paper outlining the recipient’s reasons for choosing a career in the heavy construction industry.
5. The recipient must be a full-time student of the University with demonstrated financial need.
Construction Management Scholarship
• Recipient shall be a full-time, regularly enrolled student majoring in the Construction Management Program at Washington State University
• Financial need, academic achievement, and/or professional involvement may be considered singularly or together as selection criteria.
Fisher, Larry & Joyce Scholarship
Scholarships shall be awarded to:
1. first to a third or fourth year woman student with a double major in Construction Management and Business Administration;
2. if no students who meet the criteria in (1) above are available, then to a third or fourth year woman student majoring in Construction Management
Jacobsen, Jack B. Endowed Scholarship
Poe, A. Donald Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded to one or more students in the Construction Management program of the School of Architecture and Construction Management. The faculty of the Construction Management program shall determine the scholarship requirements.
Satterthwaite, J & C Scholarship
The proceeds from this endowment fund shall be used to provide annual scholarship support to a fourth or fifth year student in the Construction Management program in the School of Architecture
Construction Management Student Excellence
Used for ASCM competitions, AGC Student Chapter Conf., AGC Natn’l. Convention, Natn’l. Assoc. of Home Builders regional activiteis & meetings, field trips, study abroad programs.
Architecture & Construction Management Scholarships
Chase, Raymond S. Scholarship
The proceeds from this endowment fund shall be used to provide annual scholarship support to an undergraduate or graduate student in the School of Architecture. Criteria used by the School’s Scholarship Committee to award scholarships to students will be the criteria used to award the Chase scholarships.
Columbia Paint Co. Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a senior entering his/her final year of study.
Scott, David & Louise Scholarship
The proceeds form the endowment fund are to be used to provide scholarship support to qualified students in the School of Architecture who demonstrate financial need, academic promise, and commitment to excellence in architecture or construction management.
Smith, S. & Pond, E. Scholarship
Those considered eligible for scholarships/awards shall be full time regularly enrolled students majoring in architecture or construction management. The scholarships/awards may take the form of objects of art, books, tuition, fees or travel grants.
