Welcome!!

I am a Professor in the School of Architecture at Washington State University, Pullman, Washington.  To find out more about me, click the "Professor" link in the list on the left.

I teach architectural structures to students in our Architecture and in our Construction Management programs.  This is a sequence of seven semester-long courses.   For more information about these courses, click on the "Teaching" link.   If you want information about Washington State University, visit the WSU home page, http://www.wsu.edu.  If you would like specific information about the School of Architecture and Construction Management, please visit the home page,  http://www.arch.wsu.edu.

(If, on the other hand, you would rather look at some pictures of some nice cutthroat trout, click on the "Photo Album" link in the list on the left.)

My research interests are in the areas of forensic engineering, the investigation of failures of constructed works.  I am also interested in all forms of structural engineering involving all construction materials, and in the subject of professional ethics.  Click on the "Research" link for more information.

I have written a number of professional and technical journal articles related to my research interests, and several books.  I also serve as the Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, published by the American Society of Civil Engineers.  Please click on the "Publications" link for information.
